Overview:
Monterey Park Hospital, located in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles, is a 101 bed acute care community hospital. Monterey Park Hospital has provided our community with advanced medical and culturally sensitive healthcare services for over 50 years. Monterey Park Hospital is recruiting for a Coordinator, Quality Risk Management in our Quality Assurance Department. This position reports to the Quality Assurance Director.
Responsibilities:
The Coordinator, Quality Risk Management position provides administrative support to the Director of Quality/Risk Management. The Coordinator, Quality Risk Management reviews all admissions for focused criteria, current and future core measures or other initiatives, performs concurrent review for all admission, continued stay and discharge indicators, communicates with physician for improved documentation to demonstrate best practice in the care of patients, reviews all fall outs for lack of compliance and educates as appropriate, reviews all fall outs for lack of compliance and educates as appropriate; performs concurrent review for compliance with Electronic Clinical Quality Measures (ECQM).
The Coordinator, Quality Risk Management works directly with the Performance Improvement Activities Team leaders to present identified process improvements utilizing aggregate data, performs concurrent review of identified Performance Improvement (PI) initiatives such as falls, restraints and participates in the PI process. The Coordinator, Quality Risk Management provides ongoing education to staff and physicians related to best practice and participates in concurrent and retrospective audits and data abstraction of core measures and patient safety records. Performs other administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum experience:
Knowledge of core measure - required
Quality Improvement experience - required
Clinical experience - preferred
License and Certifications:
Current CA RN or LVN license - required
Other:
Ability to teach, speak in public and communicate effectively with nurses and doctors.
