Position Summary:
The Mgr of Rx Procurement is responsible for over $2B in annual drug purchasing. He/she owns the relationship with the pharmacy wholesaler and manages item selection, negotiation and supply chain for over $40M in annual direct generic purchases. Additionally, the Mgr of Rx Procurement oversees issuance of pharmacy recalls, in coordination with the Ahold Delhaize USA (ADUSA) QA Team. Finally, he/she administers the store-level inventory management application and provides best practice guidance to the Brands relating to purchasing and inventory management.
Essential job functions:

• Actively manage the organizational pharmaceutical drug requirements in order to optimize cost of goods between direct and indirect sourcing. Secure maximum benefit from generic and brand carve-outs to achieve budgeted Save for Our Customer targets.
• Creatively utilize existing relationships and new suppliers to maintain product supply and meet Brand customer needs.
• Regularly communicate with Retail Operations and store personnel regarding product additions/changes/deletions, drug launches, product recalls, and program changes.
• Administer store-level inventory management application and provide best practice guidance to the Brands relating to purchasing and inventory management.
• Implement strategies to mitigate off-contract purchasing through pharmacy wholesaler.
• Support execution of pharmacy 340B program by ensuring correct pass through of EDI order/receipt data. Represent 340B concerns to wholesaler and ensure carve-out purchase volume is unaffected by purchasing diverted to 340B covered entities.
• Engage third party auditors to identify any potential inaccuracies/claims in pharmaceutical returns program as well as direct purchasing.
• Oversee all rx category management activities to include but not be limited to: meeting the drug assortment needs of Brand customers, managing relationships with vendors as the primary point of contact, negotiating cost, contractual and program terms and conditions with vendors, and managing warehouse service level and inventory turns and retail inventory control initiatives.
• Subject matter expert on industry trends, upcoming drug patent expirations, product safety recalls, new product launches and drug utilization forecasts.
• Manage and execute all record retention, product recall notification and other required processes in order to maintain supply chain regulatory compliance at the direction of the Pharmacy Compliance and/or Legal Departments. Manage the pharmaceutical product reverse distribution process, including credit recovery.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree
• 5-7 years experience
