AI Engineers is actively seeking a Senior Project Manager (Site/Civil) to join our Northeast Region Operations to serve as lead on Site/Civil Projects with a variety of agencies in the Northeast Market. The candidate will have responsibility for providing civil/site design for projects with minimal supervision. Assignments may also include other aspects of Civil Engineering such as civil/highway projects, site design, drainage design, rail-transit, and design-build projects. This role also has the opportunity to lead and mentor a team of staff, depending on candidate experience.

Responsibilities Include:

• Manage design, reports, plan production, specification, estimates, etc. for state and local clients.
• Develop design plans including horizontal and vertical alignment, drainage, grading, erosion/sediment control, storm water management, roads, utilities, i.e. water, sewer, storm drain and cross section for both State and Local sector clients.
• Lead large-scale projects with multiple disciplines and subconsultants.
• Coordinate design development and assist with technical direction to other design staff.
• Implement and/or conduct QA/QC procedures of Civil/Site tasks and projects.
• Coordinate with the design team to achieve quality deliverables within the established schedule and budget.
• Assist with the development of specifications, cost estimates, reports and preparing final bid packages.
• Developing design plans, including construction staging/traffic control plans, signing & pavement marking plans.
• Establish working relationships and interfacing with client technical staff and project managers.
• Prepare scope, budget, and schedule for clients as well as internally.
• Prepare invoicing and complete billing for assigned projects.
• Train and/or mentor junior staff.
• Assist with client engagement and marketing activities.
• Attend project meetings with clients, sub-consultants, and the project team.
• Site feasibility evaluations and assessments, and constructability evaluation.
• Other duties as assigned.

Professional Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• 10 years’ experience performing and managing design.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration in CT & NY or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Experience managing and delivering State and Local client project.
• Experience managing and mentoring engineering staff.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads and Hydrology/Hydraulic Software preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively on all levels, internal and externa
• Excellent written and verbal communication skill.
• Ability to conceptualize and think creatively.
• Ability to apply effective use of project contingencies, both budgets and schedules.
• Establish clear lines of communication within project team and with client for free flow of information.
• Intimate familiarity with client's requirements, challenges, and key areas of interest for grow
• Ability to properly address and manage changes.
• Demonstrated problem-solving, negotiations and decision-making skill.
• Occasional to moderate travel may be required.
