Summary of Position

The Design Engineer designs machinery in conjunction with the Project Manager, Engineering Manager, and Senior Design Engineer through Solidworks and AutoCAD. This position works as both an entry level position for those with the proper qualifications as well as a promotive position to Mechanical Drafters that show positive potential and motivation. Design Engineers are expected to model and draw components based off past designs and are encouraged to improve the process and design of anything assigned. It is expected of Design Engineer to have aa working understanding of all equipment and to eventually specialize in one of the major systems designs.

Qualifications

• 2-5 Years Work Experience
• Associates Degree in Mechanical Drafting or Equivalent Required
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Design Engineering Preferred
• Solidworks Associate or Professional Certification Preferred
• Experience Designing and Working in Industrial Applications
• Experience in Paint and/or Enamel Systems Preferred
• Automation and Controls Experience is a Plus
• Combustion Experience is a Plus

Responsibilities

• Create models and drawings of all mechanical components in a system
• Assist in the proper sizing and design of pumps, fans, ducts, etc.
• Assist Senior Design Engineers and Sales Engineering when needed
• Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the machinery and processes associated with all projects
• Be available to travel to job sites for installation and documentation as needed
• Strive to create the most efficient, cost effective, and usable machinery possible
• Create a deep understanding of the mechanical design of common componentry used
• Convert old drawings and assemblies from AutoCAD to Solidworks
• Communicate with suppliers and fabricators about projects being worked on
• Stay on top of lead times and deliverables
• Maintain correct BOMs and Spare Parts List of designed equipment

Travel
