OPEXUS seeks to expand our product management team with the addition of a talented Product Owner , who is passionate about building great products and enhancing our existing offerings. We are excited to grow our team and focus on finding individuals who can own and manage our product SCRUM process and work closely with our product managers, development, and testing teams. Ideal candidates are organized, analytical, strong project managers, and fast learners.

As a critical member of the product management team, you will provide support related to the definition, delivery, rollout, and success of portions of the OPEXUS product portfolio. You will become intimately involved with understanding our product lifecycle, helping plan and write product requirements and assist in providing research into competition, and specific government regulations or changes that may impact our customers and products. In this role, collaboration is key making sure to communicate effectively with other stakeholders across the company.

General Role & Responsibilities

  • Gain a deep understanding of the customer experience, identify product gaps, and generate new ideas that expand market share, improve customer experience and drive growth.
  • Partner with Product, Support, Implementation, and Engineering to gather customer needs and translate those needs into developer-ready technical product requirements, specifications, and acceptance criteria.
  • Manage the product backlog, refine tickets, and provide clarity of what needs to be done in what priority order to meet our sprint commitments and follow Agile Development best practices.
  • Work closely with the Product Manager, Dev leads and other product members to deliver on our product vision, roadmap, and growth of the product.
  • Help refine and improve many operational processes to advance our current structure and reporting of sprint and release commitments and progress.
  • Work with the UX to produce detailed wireframes, designs, and prototypes.
  • Collaborate with other departments for specific details and clarification around contractual obligations, dependencies, time constraints and SLAs.
  • Support product rollouts and ensure internal stakeholders are enabled with required materials, training, and operational processes to maximize the success of products.
  • Understand how to collaborate to support services, success, sales and implementation and work to effectively communicate with marketing and other teams to provide clarity around product related work.
  • Conduct market research and competitor research to stay aware of important trends in the market that inform product strategy.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • 2 years of product management work in successful business-to-business software with technical products or services.
  • Comfort developing product requirements – you enjoy seeing the outcome from your work, are unafraid to test new ideas, and love to solve problems.
  • A metrics-driven mindset, analytical and strong critical thinking skills.
  • Hands-on experience utilizing various tools such as Azure DevOps, Aha!
  • Strong communication skills – written and verbal.
  • Resourceful self-starter, comfortable working autonomously with a strong sense of urgency and work ethic.
  • Adaptable to successfully manage multiple, concurrent project demands within established timelines in a fast-paced, rapid-growth environment.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree –Business and Marketing degrees are preferred but not required.
