The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a Term, Accountant (GS-0510-13) to work at MacDill AFB, FL.

Lead facilitator of daily, weekly, and monthly communication with the Department of Defense Office of Inspector General to perform U.S. Special Operations Command’s (USSOCOM) annual financial statement audit. The Audit Liaison Team (ALT) lead also responds to audit taskings from the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (Comptroller) / Chief Financial Officer and other federal agencies (e.g., Government Accountability Office). The ALT coordinates audit requests among the Special Operations Force including four service Components, seven Theatre Special Operations Commands, one sub-unified joint command, and other service providers (i.e., Defense Finance Accounting Service). The ALT hosts an annual audit kickoff conference with enterprise stakeholders. The ALT manages financial statement audit products in a file plan. Finally, the ALT monitors USSOCOM audit supporting documentation and responses in the Audit Response Control tool.

-Salary $103,409 - $134,435

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

-U.S. Citizenship required.

-1-2 years’ experience requested.

-Must be able to obtain and maintain Top Secret/SCI security clearance.

-Proficiency in the use of common DoD software, including the Microsoft Office Suite of applications, and accounting software.

-This is a Financial Management Level 2 Certified position IAW the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Public Law 112-81, Subtitle F-Financial Management, Section 1599d. Incumbent shall comply with the requirements of this certification program.

-This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety. Incumbent must sign a statement acknowledging the position is a TDP.

-Position requires 24 semester hours of accounting.

-Knowledge of the Federal Managers Financial Integrity Act, Federal Financial Management Improvement Act, The CFO Act of 1990, and OMB Circular A-123 Risk Management and Internal Controls requirements.

-Knowledge of Information Technology General and Application Controls, Statement of Standards on Attestation Engagements (SSAE) No. 18, Service Organization Control (SOC) Reports, and methodologies to integrate assurance over Service Provider controls into the Entity Level Control environment and statement of assurance of an organization.

-Knowledge of commonly used accounting methods, practices, procedures. Regulations, policies, and processes.

-Knowledge of missions. functions, goals, objectives, work processes. and sources of funding pertinent to USSOCOM component commands, sub-unified command, and theater special operations commands.

-Knowledge of source of factual information about and related to processes of accounting classifications, such as that found in accounting reports, payroll records, work reports, or inventory and supply data.
