The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a Full-Time GENERAL ENGINEER (NH-0801-03 ) to work at Air Force Materiel Command, (AFMC) in the Ogden Air Logistics Center (OO-ALC) – at Hill Air Force Base in Davis County, UT. The purpose of this position is to to serve as a senior professional engineer with systems engineering responsibility in assigned area(s). Considered the technical expert for the organization in general engineering assignments concerning (insert functional area - i.e., Systems Acquisition);

employee provides technical leadership in planning, analyzing, and evaluating efforts used to define total weapons systems/subsystem requirements, translate requirements into design criteria, evaluate alternative design approaches, and develop system specifications. Work encompasses several

phases of the development process in which the employee guides and evaluates the design and development activities of others.

Qualifications:

- U.S. Citizenship

- Obtain & maintain Security clearance

- This may be a designated Drug Testing Position

- Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical (if applicable)

Recruitment Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

1. Knowledge of a wide range of multidisciplinary professional engineering concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, materials, and equipment to effectively apply advanced engineering theories, principles, and concepts to project development, execution, and advisory services.

2. Knowledge of development engineering methodologies sufficient to apply experimental theories and/or new applications to issues and provide technical advice and direction in support of weapon systems, subsystems, and/or support equipment.

3. Knowledge of systems engineering practices and procedures as they pertain to sustainment, modification, logistics, and production management principles, concepts, policies, and systems.

4. Knowledge of the principles of planning and program management; of standard acquisition regulations, practices, and procedures; and of other engineering disciplines used in support of sustainment, modification, and maintenance programs.

5. Ability to devise and evaluate criteria, parameters, characteristics, and interrelationships for design approaches; to assess the impact of new technology on current systems and processes; and to gather, assemble, and analyze facts, form conclusions, and devise and recommend solutions to problems.

6. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing, as well as work in a professional manner with peers, management, contractors, academia, and other

ADDITIONAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

1. An engineering degree at the bachelor’s level from an institution with an ABET accredited program in Engineering or a closely related field is highly desired.

2. Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.

3. The work requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.
