DUTIES:
The primary purpose of this position is to exercise 2nd level (or higher) supervisory and managerial authorities over the organization. Directs work activities through subordinate supervisors/leads with responsibility for providing advice, accountability, and expertise to higher management and/or senior leadership on a continuous basis. Exercises control over the organizational element by providing direction, planning, and leadership for assigned subordinate personnel.
1. Exercises 2nd level (or higher) technical and administrative supervisory personnel management responsibilities for 25% or more during duty time directing the work of production or maintenance organizations; assume accountability for the success of specific line or staff programs, functions, or activities; and monitor the progress of the organization toward its goals and periodically evaluate and make appropriate adjustments.
2. Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the organization, ensuring that logistics management related operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs.
3. Participates in special logistics related operation projects and initiatives and performs special assignments. Identifies the need for special projects and initiates milestones and goals.
4. Represents the organization with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships.
RECRUITMENT KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Knowledge of the applicable principles, concepts, policies, and laws; functions, programs,
and systems applicable to the duties of position; sources, responsibilities, and means for providing assistance and advice to resolve problems; and all aspects of support.
2. Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures.
3. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization through subordinate supervisors.
4. Ability to identify, analyze, and translate complex managerial information, make appropriate judgments, and evaluate options.
5. Ability to utilize AoP concepts and initiatives to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
ADDITIONAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
1. Employee must obtain and maintain necessary security clearance for the position.
2. The employee may be required work extended or other than normal duty hours to include evenings and weekends and may be subject to recall. Incumbent may be required to work during base exercises, contingencies or emergency situations and overtime/comp time/credit hours may be required to accomplish assigned duties.
3. PCS, Relocation and Recruitment Incentive may or may not be approved for this job posting.
