The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for Full-Time Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist-GS-0346-13 to work at Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) at Kirtland AFB, Albuquerque, New Mexico. This federal job offers a rewarding and exciting career with benefits.

Ideal Candidate: We are seeking a supervisory logistics specialist with experience managing weapons and equipment in procurement through retirement. Targeting individuals with nuclear or comparable weapons related experience to manage lifecycle activities of nuclear weapons and DOE-special designed equipment. Must supervise/lead an equipment specialist team in translating requirements and policy into technical procedures. Must manage all functions of a small, technical oriented branch. Must adeptly interact with partner agencies including HAF, DOE, NNSA, and DTRA to mesh Air Force needs with external competing priorities. Current security clearance mandatory.

-Salary Range-$104,498-$134,435

-Position not eligible for telework or remote work

-Up to 25% Travel Possible

-AFGSC Civilians are eligible for a 10% incentive pay after 6 months in the MAJCOM effective now through Sept 2025

-This is a centrally managed position. Travel and relocation expenses will be paid in accordance with the JTR and AFMAN 36-606

Qualification Summary:

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the chief of the newly created Technical Services branch by exercising first level supervisory and managerial authorities over the section by providing critical nuclear technical direction and liaison to field units, MAJCOMS, DTRA, DOE, and other governmental agencies.

DUTIES:

-Plan, organizes, and oversees the activities of the technical services branch. as chief of technical services manages and directs all phases of the section program and work by developing goals and objectives to integrate organizational and logistics management objectives.

-Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities for military and civilian personnel

-Provides directors with periodic and comprehensive status of section programs, major challenges/issues, workload schedules, and goals

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

-U.S. Citizenship is required

-This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP). The employee is subject to random drug testing

-May require access to sensitive compartmented information(SCI)

-This is a key position. Incumbent must be removed from their military recall status if alternatives for filling the position during an emergency are not available. The incumbent may be required to take part in test alerts and practice exercises. Mobilization-key position is a key position under the provisions of AFI 36-202, civilian mobility.

-This position has been designated mission essential and identified as a civilian recovery force position.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: (KSAs):

-Knowledge of the applicable logistics management concepts, policies, and laws; logistics functions, programs, and systems applicable to the duties of position; sources, responsibilities, and means for providing assistance and advice to resolve logistics problems; and all aspects of integrated logistics support.

-Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. Additionally, the incumbent must have extensive knowledge of AF and MAJCOM responsibilities for nuclear surety.

-Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise civilian and military subordinates

-Ability to analyze, plan and adjust work operations of civilian and military subordinates to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources. and translate complex information, make appropriate judgments, and evaluate options.

-Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
