POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Global Tax manages the overall tax strategy and compliance for AirLife's expanding international and domestic tax requirements. The Director of Global Tax is supported by various external tax advisors. Given recent acquisition activity, this role will have substantial involvement supporting tax integration workstreams.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

The specific minimum competencies needed to perform the essential duties of the job include knowledge, skills, abilities, level of education, and experience necessary for successful performance. These competencies are generally demonstrated through specific service, education, or training.

Knowledge: Acquired through education, certifications, training, experience.

Skills & Abilities:

  • International tax, transfer pricing and VAT experience
  • Federal and multi-state income, franchise and sales and use tax experience
  • Excellent analytical, presentation and project management skills
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Hands-on leader with strong organization skills and attention to detail

Level of Experience:

8 to 10 years’ experience in corporate tax planning, compliance, and accounting for an acquisitive multinational company

Level of Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance – MS in Taxation preferred. CPA or JD preferred.

Travel:

Potential for 1-3 trips per year.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

The core tasks, duties, and responsibilities that must be performed on the job.

  • Position supervises the Sr. State Tax Analyst
  • Develop and Communicate and enforce global tax policies and procedures
  • Develop and manage the implementation of tax strategies designed to minimize our worldwide tax expense while managing the Company’s tax exposure
  • Lead implementation and monitoring of new transfer pricing policies
  • Manage the accounting for income taxes, including development and implementation of key controls
  • Communicate and coordinate with International accounting staff on non-US tax matters
  • Provide well researched authoritative support for all Company tax positions, supported by outside advisors
  • Oversee relationship with external tax advisors, including engagement and fees
  • Manage the compliance activities of external advisors to ensure that income and non-income based tax returns are prepared and filed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Stay current on tax laws and regulations and income tax accounting standards and advise management of significant changes and their impact on the Company
  • Advise management on the tax benefits, exposures and accounting implications of planned mergers and acquisitions and other significant business transactions
  • Management of all tax audits and audit defense
  • Provide leadership for continuous improvement of tax processes and internal controls
  • Lead training initiatives to ensure that Finance and non-Finance stakeholders are equipped with the required working knowledge of tax governance across relevant global jurisdictions
