DescriptionJOB SUMMARY: The NDT Inspector performs all Magnetic Particle and Fluorescent Penetrant inspections on aircraft components. Reports ToThe NDT Inspector reports directly to the Director of Quality. Supervisory Responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities
Operating Airside MRO’s NDT Shop
Perform FPI and/or MPI inspections on disassembled components per given guidelines and approved NDT standards and manufacture's technical data.
Perform the daily, weekly, and monthly checks and fill out required process control logs as required by written procedures
Draft magnetic particle technique sheets and maintain the sheets after Level III approval
Track all supplies and tooling in the NDT shop to ensure proper calibrations and shelf lives
Knowledgeable in cleaning and prepping areas for inspection
Document all inspections performed on articles per Airside MRO procedures for record-keeping
Set up and operate a blast booth or similar equipment
Ability to mask and apply protection for aircraft components appropriately
Utilizing PPE equipment effectively, hazardous waste compliance is followed
Bring shortages of supplies to the attention of the supervisor for replenishment
Works from oral and written instructions and established procedures
Responsible for the quality of own work
Keeps immediate work area clean and orderly and works in accordance with general safety practices
Performs other related duties as assigned
RequirementsREQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Thorough understanding of tools and testing methods used to perform MPI and FPI inspections
Detail-oriented with mechanical inclination
Superior and careful workmanship
Ability to perform consistently under stressful conditions
Ability to learn new skills and methods
Ability to consistently meet deadlines
Sufficient oral and verbal communication skills, as needed, to discuss equipment malfunctions and complete reports
Education And Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required
Current Level II Certifications in MT and PT methods of inspection. Hours and/or certifications must be signed off by a Level III inspector.
Prior experience in FAA Part-145 MRO environment is preferred, but not required.
Prior experience with OEM specs, manuals, and drawings is preferred.
Familiar with the use of precision measuring tools
Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand, lie, and kneel in awkward positions and spaces
Must be able to perform work on scaffolding or ladders
Must be able to lift and pull objects weighing up to 70 pounds at a time
Manual dexterity and physical strength necessary to operate tools and equipment
Must have visual acuity to inspect equipment and identify defects
