Schedule:

• 3x 9am-5pm, 2x 12pm-8pm
• Alternating Sundays and Fridays 9 am - 5 pm with Flexibility

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide timely analysis of specimens (bodily fluids, blood, urine, etc.)
• Support upkeep of quality control program for all types of testing being performed
• Keep the Laboratory Supervisor informed to ensure that appropriate remedial action is taken whenever a test system deviate from laboratory’s performance specifications
• Ensure that patient test results are reported efficiently
• Provide support to ensure the maintenance of all laboratory records including requisitions, reports, equipment maintenance, calibrations, test verification's, remedial/corrective actions and proficiency testing
• Operate, calibrate and maintain a variety of laboratory equipment, including Beckman/Coulter
• Enter specimen analysis and test results in a patient’s electronic health record
• Monitor test analyses and specimen examination to ensure that acceptable levels of analytic performance are maintained
• Learn and maintain knowledge of the Center’s laboratory policies and procedures established by the Laboratory Director and Laboratory Supervisor
• Use appropriate channels of communication
• Accept assignment changes

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Clinical laboratory experience a plus 1 year minimum preferred
• Knowledge of EHR or EMR strongly preferred
• Must have a strong ability to work independently as well as an effective team member
• Must display strong communication and interpersonal skills and have the ability to effectively relate to all medical staff
• Must have excellent ability to analyze test results, computer generated reports, etc., including superior follow up skills and attention to detail
• Must have the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and remain flexible in adjusting to changing conditions within the clinical/laboratory operations
