IThe basic function of the Jobsite Safety Coordinator is to assist the Safety Director and Project Teams in the overall supervision and administration of project safety programs in order to maintain a safe and healthy work environment

IEducation
3.1.1Required: Must have a high school diploma and have attended the OSHA 510 course. 3.1.2Preferred: Four-year occupational safety and health degree or equivalent combination of training and related experience. 3.2 Licensing / Registration / Certification 3.2.1 NIA 3.3 Experience 3.3.1 Required: 5 years in the construction industry 3.3.2 Preferred: 5 years in safety and health and health for the construction industry Skills3.4 Skills/ Knowledge/ Abilities 3.4.1 Position requires advanced knowledge of and ability to enforce all federal, state, local, and company safety regulations required. 3.4.2 Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures essential. Required3.4.3 Good interpersonal and communication skills are also required. 3.4.4 Good working knowledge of computers 3.5 Physical Requirements 3.5.1 The physical requirements may be stressful. Climbing, lifting carrying, and walking as required for site inspections are required. The senses required are being able to see and hear and having full power of speech. 3.6 Mental 3.6.1 Must be able to work under stressful deadline situations. 3.6.2 Must be able to communicate in English, verbally and in writing. 4.0 WORKING CONDITIONS 4.1 Work will be in a climate-controlled office part of the time with the majority of time spent in the field. Workdays will be from 8 to IO hours per day with some early morning or late evening meetings. Responsibilities5.0 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 5.1 Assist the project teams with all safety related paperwork on the project. This includes but not limited to helping to maintain the OSHA 300 log, Project specific MSDS manual, Safety Violation Notice log, Hazard Analysis Forms, Accident Investigations, jobsite posters. 5.2 Review contract documents including plans, specifications, schedules, and meeting minutes to identify potentially hazardous task and work closely with the Project Superintendent and subcontractors to develop a safe work plan, 5.3 Provide technical compliance assistance to the Project Superintendent and subcontractors on Federal, State, Local, and Company safety requirements. 5.4 Inspect jobsite conditions for compliance with Federal, State, Local, and Company safety requirements. 5.5 Prepare written reports for each safety inspection, review with the Project Superintendent, and forward to the Safety Director. The original shall be maintained on site. 5.6 Enforce strict compliance with all safety requirements and immediately stop work and correct any hazardous conditions observed. 5.7 Participate in developing and conducting staff and subcontractor safety orientation and training. 5.8 Investigate and assist the Project Superintendent in preparing the appropriate forms for all accidents 6.0COMMENTS The Project Superintendent has primary responsibility for safety on his/her project. The Jobsite Safety Coordinator must work closely with and assist the Project Superintendent to ensure all safety requirements are met. Ajax Building Company, LLC is an equal opportunity employer.
