The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the safe, efficient and uninterrupted operation of the facility. They will effectively utilize the staff and the CMMS system to complete maintenance work orders and achieve the mechanical downtime targets for the plant, provide leadership to the Maintenance Team regarding best practices, workplace safety, effective utilization of time, accurate records, and teamwork. The Maintenance Supervisor will also plan and supervise day-to-day maintenance activities in conjunction with the Maintenance Planner as well as the CMMS system.
Responsibilities
• Must be able to motivate/lead others, deal with ambiguity, have a results-driven mind-set, good decision-making skills, and excellent communication skills• Coordinate, arrange, and/or supervises the completion of corrective and preventive maintenance in accordance with manufactures procedures• Implement usage of CMMS work order system within group, extract data and make decisions based upon data trending to drive results in a positive direction• Implement TPM practices such as Lean Manufacturing, 5-S Principles and lead TPM teams (NWT/SM/SM). The position is responsible for all technical skills management and development of technicians• Improve reliability, maintenance and processing methods to reduce cost and avoid loss of production as a result of equipment malfunction or failure time• Reviews production schedules and estimates maintenance hour requirements for completion of job assignment• Ensure that equipment and facility are maintained in a safe, operable condition and/or arrange for replacement/ upgrades• Assist with developing/improving department relations by continued communication of all information affecting operations• Update or develop preventative maintenance procedures that are cost effective and increase the operational life of the equipment• Review regularly site-specific maintenance logs for department• Verify and/or establish procedures and contacts to ensure timely repairs of equipment• Reaffirm equipment capabilities, safety and operational condition• Provide production downtime reports, determines opportunities, and initiate action plan to increase efficiencies• Ensure compliance with quality, health and safety rules, guidelines and regulationsSupervisory Responsibilities: This position has supervisory responsibilities over maintenance mechanics, electricians, facility technicians and utility/ammonia technicians.
• Associates Degree in a STEM field from a four-year accredited college or university; 5 to 8 years of related experience may be considered in lieu of degree completion.• Minimum of 2 years’ related leadership experience in a manufacturing environment is required.• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in food manufacturing is required.• 5 years of experience in facility maintenance work with an emphasis on repair and maintenance of HVAC, electrical, or plumbing systems or a combination of experience, training and education which will be evaluated on an individual basis for comparability.• Professional certifications such as CMRP or HVAC will be considered an advantage, but not required.• Understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and utility systems.• Must have the knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).• Experience using, trouble-shooting, and programming Allen Bradley PLCs
