RESPONSIBILITIES:
· The Safety Manager must oversee the safety program, focusing on Field Verification of Critical Controls to mitigate Serious Injury & Fatality risks and drive local incident prevention efforts
· Must serve as a subject matter expert in assigned areas, providing guidance on regulations and assisting in the development of programs, policies, and procedures.
· Motivate team members to collaborate on safety program implementation, while managing multiple priorities and working with personnel across all organizational levels.
· The Safety Manager must develop and execute procedures and programs to enhance the safety program’s effectiveness.
· Conduct safety orientations for new hires, deliver safety training, and lead monthly safety meetings and annual updates for employees, supervisors, and plant management.
· Ensure compliance with safety program policies and procedures within the plant, reporting any discrepancies to plant management and the safety director.
· The Safety Manager must partner with senior management and the safety team to set and manage safety goals, metrics, and priorities throughout the organization.
· Drive continuous improvement in safety performance and support the implementation and maintenance of safety guidelines.
· Collaborate with the divisional safety team and plant management to prevent employee injuries and regulatory violations.
· Coordinate and participate in the plant’s Safety Committee.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· The Safety Manager must hold a Bachelor’s degree (B.A.)
· Must have experience from production sector, solutions such as cement, ready-mix concrete, used for construction industry.
· Must have at least 5 years of experience managing a safety program.
· Must be proficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
· Skilled in writing reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals, and training materials.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
· Capable of creating and delivering presentations effectively, and addressing questions from employees at all levels, including executives, hourly workers, clients, customers, and the public.
· 3 years of experience with MSHA regulations is highly desired.
· Certification in dust/silica and noise sampling is strongly preferred.
· Minimal travel is expected, though occasional visits to other plants may be required based on organizational needs.
