Akkodis is seeking a Senior VOIP Engineer for a Contract position that is a Onsite role in Washington, DC, and requires work 5 days/Week in the office. Ideally, we are looking for applicants with proven experience in integrating VoIP and VTC systems with other networking and communication technologies.

JOB TITLE: Senior VOIP Engineer

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Contract

LOCATION DETAILS: Onsite - Washington, DC.

Pay Range: $40 - $45/Hour (Pay Range may be negotiable based upon experience, education, geographic location, and other factors)

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain VoIP and VTC systems to ensure seamless communication across the organization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, assess needs, and develop solutions that align with business objectives.
• Configure and troubleshoot VoIP and VTC hardware and software components, ensuring optimal performance and call quality.
• Monitor system health and performance, proactively identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime and disruption.
• Integrate VoIP and VTC systems with existing network infrastructure and communication tools.
• Implement security measures to safeguard VoIP and VTC systems against unauthorized access and cyber threats.
• Provide technical support and training to end-users, addressing inquiries and resolving technical issues promptly.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in VoIP and VTC technologies, recommending improvements as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps.
• Create and maintain knowledgebase articles for use in troubleshooting and resolving common issues.
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support and system maintenance.

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting VoIP and VTC hardware and software components.
• Experience working with and configuring Polycom Virtual Servers and Endpoints.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs., climb ladders, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
• Knowledge of network concepts, including TCP/IP, VLANs, QoS, and routing.
• Security practices and tools for securing VoIP and VTC systems.
• Integrating VoIP and VTC systems with other networking and communication technologies.
• Implementing security measures to protect VoIP and VTC systems from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
• Cisco CCNA Collaboration or equivalent.
• CompTIA Network or relevant networking certifications.
• Relevant vendor-specific VoIP or VTC certifications.

Preferred skills and qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Relevant industry certifications such as Cisco CCNA Collaboration, CompTIA Network , or vendor-specific VoIP/VTC certifications.
• The ability to obtain a public trust clearance.
