Akkodis is Hiring a Tool & Die Specialist/Machine Builder Near Maumelle, AR

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Assemble and debug automation designs. Support automation upgrades and equipment transfers to client facilities worldwide.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:1.

  • Assembles and debugs automation equipment to ensure that all required specifications are met including engineering validation, product verification, and machine qualification.
  • Fabricates, assembles, modifies, and troubleshoots automation stations and components. Includes troubleshooting assembly and product issues, adjusting manufacturing processes to improve product performance and reacting quickly to any production requirements.
  • Performs electrical field wiring of sensors, valves, and motors. Capable of dressing machine wiring harnesses in a clean and organized fashion.
  • Supervises the disassembly/packaging and subsequent unpacking & commissioning of LR-Automation equipment installed in client facilities globally.
  • Provides technical support for launching new equipment produced by the LR-Automation Team. Responsibilities will include training of technicians and operators to ensure the proper and safe operation of equipment and assembly of product.
  • Attends Design Reviews and PFMEA’s while working with Automation Design Engineers to improve current and future designs of Automation Equipment.
  • Understands, supports, and contributes to complete projects according to internal product development procedures, TQM, and IS/QS-9000 requirements. Embraces Six Sigma, International Standards Organization (ISO) and Environmental, and/or Health and Safety (EH&S) Management Systems by following stated policies and procedures.
  • Provides insight and design consideration for machine controls and operator interface panels to improve the reliability and ease of operation of the equipment.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
  • International Travel: Up to 20% per year.

EDUCATION:REQUIRED:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

PREFERRED:

  • Technical Trade School Degree
  • Journeyman Tool & Die Certification

WORK EXPERIENCE:REQUIRED:

  • 5 years' experience as a toolmaker, machine builder, or equivalent experience
  • 5 years high-speed, precision machinery.

PREFERRED:

  • 10 years' experience as a toolmaker, machine builder, or equivalent experience

SKILLS & ABILITIES:REQUIRED:

  • Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills to arrive at sound solutions to mechanical or controls issues.
  • Excellent self-management, planning, and organizational skills to enable themselves to meet goals and deadlines.
  • Perform Component inspection utilizing various metrology tools (OMM, Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gage, etc.).
  • Toolmaking – Operation of manual and/or cnc machining, grinding, and heat-treating equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret tool detail, assembly, electrical, and pneumatic drawings
  • Repeatability & Precision – Capable of Manual Grinding to /- 0.005mm, Turning & Milling to /- 0.020mm
  • Good written and verbal skills for clear and concise communication.
  • Ability to work with many worldwide cultures in a positive manner.
  • Ability to perform geometric shop calculations
  • Strong of grasp of Electrical Interconnect Automation Technologies (Laser and Resistance Welding, Overmolding, Mechanical, Vision, and Electrical Inspection)
  • Frequent Standing in the Job (8 to 10 hours a day)

  • Fluent use of Siemens NX to load, manipulate and measure models.
  • Documenting procedures
  • Estimating personal workload
  • Foreign Language Competency: Mandarin or Spanish
