Al-Ikhlas Training Academy (ATA) is a non-profit, full-time Islamic school, established in the City of Detroit. ATA serves students from Preschool through 12th grades.

Since its establishment, in 1991, we’ve had 31 senior graduating classes. Those students are attending colleges and universities throughout the United States.

Many have obtained degrees in education, finance, engineering, pharmaceuticals, nursing, medicine, law enforcement, and many other disciplines.

Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated High School Science Teacher to join our team of qualified educators. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching General Science, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics to high school students. This role involves preparing and implementing comprehensive lesson plans, fostering a positive classroom environment, and guiding students toward academic success.

Duties:

1. Deliver Engaging Lessons: Present lessons in General Science (9th grade), Biology (10th grade), Chemistry (11th grade), and Physics (12th grade) in a comprehensive manner using diverse teaching methods to facilitate understanding and retention.

2. Individualized Instruction: Provide personalized support to students to enhance their understanding of complex scientific concepts and promote interactive learning.

3. Educational Content Creation: Develop and distribute educational materials such as notes, summaries, and assignments tailored to each subject.

4. Student Assessment: Monitor and record student progress in each subject area, providing constructive feedback and grades.

5. Classroom Management: Maintain a clean, organized, and orderly classroom environment conducive to learning in each science discipline.

6. Collaboration: Work closely with fellow teachers, parents, and other stakeholders, and participate in regular meetings to discuss student progress and school initiatives.

7. Activity Planning: Plan and conduct both in-class and laboratory-based experiments and activities to enrich the learning experience.

8. Student Welfare: Observe student behavior, identify any signs of concern, and report them to the appropriate personnel.

9. Professional Development: Continuously enhance professional skills and knowledge in science education by attending seminars, workshops, and conferences.
