CLASSIFICATION: Classified - Reports to the Supervisor of Federal Programs
DESCRIPTION: The Federal Programs Bookkeeper will assist in the administration of the federal program's business
affairs.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Maintains a complete and systematic set of records for all financial transactions of the federal programs
2. Records details of federal programs financial transactions in appropriate journals and subsidiary ledgers from such
sources as requisitions, payroll records, etc.
3. Maintains compliance records for certification of time for federal programs
4. Prepares budgets and cost reports to reflect financial condition of the federal programs
5. Responsible for assistance in preparing annual federal programs budgets
6. Prepares and maintains payroll records
7. Reconciles monthly statements
8. Maintains a complete and systematic set of records for all financial transactions of the federal programs
9. Provides training and support for Bookkeepers in Title I Schools
10. Records details of the federal programs financial transactions on computerized system
11. Responsible for maintenance of records and monthly financial statements for federal programs
12. Acts as support when secretary is unable to fulfill duties
13. Performs other related duties as assigned
Duty Days: 240 Days/8 Hour Days
Salary Range: According to Madison County Schools Salary Schedule. Actual salary will be determined by rank and experience. Current employees with questions regarding step placement on the salary schedule should contact the Personnel Department.
