Alabama State Department of Education is Hiring a Principal (Possible) Near Tuscumbia, AL
Reports To: Superintendent
Salary: Salary to be established by the Board through contractual agreement.(235 days)
FLSA Status: Exempt
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree from an accredited educational institution.
- Valid Alabama Teacher’s Certificate endorsed in Administration/Supervision.
- Minimum of three years successful teaching experience.
- Two years successful experience as an administrator preferred.
- Must complete a criminal background check through the Alabama State Department of Education at your own expense.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assumes full responsibility for the organization, implementation, and administration of the total school program as it relates to student, faculty, and other assigned personnel.
- Assumes responsibility for the supervision and evaluation of the instructional program and the assignment, supervision and evaluation of all personnel involved in the total school program.
- Maintains high standards of student conduct and enforces discipline as necessary.
- Assumes responsibility for providing conditions within the school which are conducive to learning.
- Adheres to policies, principles, and procedures for internal school accounting as approved by the Tuscumbia City Board of Education in compliance with the Internal School Accounting Act.
- Assumes responsibility for administering the funds allocated on a per pupil basis to the school in a manner which will assure maximum utilization of the funds.
- Adheres to professional, ethical, and moral standards of conduct in the transaction of all school business.
- Cooperates with those agencies of state and local governments which render services to students.
- Establishes effective communication with students, teachers, parents, and community organizations and provides opportunities for community involvement in all phases of the school program.
- Prepares and submits to the appropriate agencies (Tuscumbia City Board of Education, State Department of Education, Cognia, etc.) all required records and reports.
- Administers the school program according to the standards of the local Board of Education, State Board of Education, and Cognia.
- Performs such other duties as may be assigned.
