JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: CHAMPIONS CRAFT TRANSITION SPECIALIST

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. No degree required. Workforce credential/certification required.
  2. A minimum of three years of successful CTE teaching experience.
  3. Supervisory experience preferred.
  4. Excellent communication skills.
  5. Proficient in computer usage.
  6. Such alternatives as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.

REPORTS TO: Career Technical Director

JOB GOAL(S):

To develop and manage the operations of Champions Craft Academy while preparing students for full-time employment placement.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Establish and maintain partnerships with local industry.
  2. Work with secondary school personnel and families to recruit students for the Academy.
  3. Placement of students on internships.
  4. Placement of students in full-time employment post-graduation.
  5. Recruitment and training of Academy teachers.
  6. Establish strong relationships with students, families, and community.
  7. Manage the selection, acquisition, and implementation of curriculum and credentialing.
  8. Selection and acquisition of equipment and resources for the Academy.
  9. Collaborate with the CTE Director and school based CTE personnel.
  10. Organize recruitment and industry events at the Academy.
  11. Keep informed about current trends and practices in workforce development and
  12. disseminate such information to stakeholders by attending professional development trainings and
  13. conferences.
  14. Maintain confidentiality of Board of Education business.
  15. Be regular and punctual in attendance.
  16. Assume other responsibilities and duties that might be reasonably assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12-month contract.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy.

SALARY RANGE: Appropriate placement on current salary schedule.
