Job Purpose
The Level II System Administrator will support network server systems, provide technical planning and operational support, and ensure systems meet cybersecurity requirements. This role involves maintaining Windows and RedHat Linux servers, implementing security measures, and supporting Authority to Operate (ATO) packages.
Duties and Responsibilities
The job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assess current network server systems and recommend improvements based on business and technical requirements.
- Engineer and analyze complex local and wide area network systems, including planning, designing, evaluating, and selecting operating systems and protocols.
- Resolve interoperability problems across all platforms, including e-mail, file transfers, and multimedia.
- Support the acquisition of hardware, software, and subcontractor services based on technical requirements.
- Participate in technical planning, project coordination, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and other operational support throughout the systems' lifecycle.
- Operate and maintain Windows and Linux RedHat servers.
- Provide operations and maintenance support for Windows and RedHat Linux servers and manage team tasking.
- Apply systematic engineering approaches to design, architect, develop, operate, and use cloud technologies and platforms for mission solutions.
- Work with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and authorizing official’s teams to ensure cloud solutions meet and maintain the authority to operate (ATO).
- Collaborate with Cloud engineers to develop strategies for monitoring cloud usage in line with security requirements and performance objectives.
- Support new and existing ATO packages.
- Implement security measures in workstations, servers, and other system components.
- Perform assessments, corrective actions, and upgrades to enhance security and protect systems from unauthorized access.
- Participate in the design, implementation, testing, and deployment of hardware and software for ONI networks.
- Ensure hardware and software deliverables meet cybersecurity requirements as specified under DoDI 8500.01, RMF IT, and NIST SP 800-53.
Qualifications
Minimum Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology.
- IAT Level 2 certification
- 3 years of experience in IA technology, NE and advanced CE.
- Experience with engineering and analyzing complex network systems.
- Proficiency in Windows and RedHat Linux server operation and maintenance.
- Understanding of RMF, DoDI 8500.01, and NIST SP 800-53 guidelines.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
