Alakaʻi Services and Poe'hana Group, Inc. is Hiring a Level III System Administrator Near Washington, DC

Job Purpose

The Level III System Administrator will lead the assessment and improvement of network server systems, provide advanced technical planning and operational support, and ensure systems meet stringent cybersecurity requirements. This role involves overseeing the maintenance of Windows and RedHat Linux servers, implementing advanced security measures, and leading efforts for Authority to Operate (ATO) packages.

Duties and Responsibilities

The job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead the assessment of current network server systems and make strategic recommendations for improvements based on business and technical requirements.
  • Oversee the engineering and analysis of complex local and wide area network systems, including planning, designing, evaluating, and selecting operating systems and protocols.
  • Resolve complex interoperability problems to ensure seamless operation across all platforms, including e-mail, file transfers, and multimedia.
  • Lead the acquisition of hardware, software, and subcontractor services based on technical requirements.
  • Direct technical planning, project coordination, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and other operational support throughout the systems' lifecycle.
  • Operate and maintain Windows and Linux RedHat servers, providing high-level support and management of team tasking.
  • Apply systematic, engineering approaches to design, architect, develop, operate, and use cloud technologies and platforms for mission solutions.
  • Work closely with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and authorizing official’s teams to ensure cloud solutions meet and maintain the authority to operate (ATO).
  • Collaborate with Cloud engineers to develop and implement strategies for monitoring cloud usage in line with security requirements and performance objectives.
  • Lead the support for new and existing ATO packages.
  • Implement and oversee security measures in workstations, servers, and other system components.
  • Conduct assessments, implement corrective actions, and initiate upgrades to enhance security and protect systems from unauthorized access.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, testing, and deployment of hardware and software for ONI networks.
  • Ensure hardware and software deliverables meet stringent cybersecurity requirements as specified under DoDI 8500.01, RMF IT, and NIST SP 800-53.

Qualifications

Minimum Education & Experience:

  • MS/MBA degree in IT, IA, or IA-related field
  • IAT Level III 3 certification
  • Seven years’ experience in IA technology, Enclave Environment, advanced NE, and advanced CE
  • Minimum 3 Years Project Management experience
  • Mastery of the functions of the IAT Level I position
  • Experience in managing all versions of MS SQL databases in windows environment.
  • Minimum 2 Years experience with MS SQL, DNS in a windows environment, Server patching/software loading
  • Must have experience in MS SQL, DNS in a Windows environment, Window server operating systems, Windows desktop operating system, Server patching/software loading, NetApp or enterprise data storage systems, Active Directory, Classified network security documentation development, Red Hat Linux
