POSITION SUMMARY :
The Dietary Supervisor, is the second highest level position in the Food Services Department. He / she reports to the Food Service Director and assists the Director in planning and supervising activities of the department to provide service to residents, employees and visitors.
The Assistant Food Service Director assists in providing technical guidance and administrative direction over food planning, menu formulation and serving of regular and therapeutic diets.
RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES :
10 Performs other duties as requested including Cooking.
NOTE : These duties become the responsibility of the Supervisor in the absence of the Food Services Director.
SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL / VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS :
1 Food Service Certification in accordance with regulatory agencies is required. Associate degree in Food Service preferred.
JOB SKILLS :
1 Knowledge of basic principles of dietetic, food sanitation and service.
2 Familiar with large-scale purchases and preparation of food, food and labor laws, and with accepted food service techniques.
3 Possess the ability to positively interact with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies / personnel and the general public.
4 Basic computer skills.
5 Provide annual verification of negative TB skin test.
PERFORMS RELATED DUTIES :
1 Interacts with residents, families, visitors and employees.
2 Carries out other tasks as requested in situations where hands-on intervention / participation may be required.
