Alamon, Inc. is currently hiring a Utility Crew Member General Laborer to join the team! The Utility Crew Member plays a vital role in upholding the integrity, safety, maintenance and functionality of utility infrastructure. This work includes performing safety inspections on wooden utility poles and maintaining solar panels while adhering to all safety standards. The Utility Crew Member role requires hands-on work in various outdoor conditions and works with Inspectors to develop all necessary skills and knowledge necessary for this role. This position requires extensive travel of upwards of 5 weeks or more at a time.

Job Description:
  • Perform essential tasks related to the maintenance, repair, and reliability of utility poles and solar panel.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards and protocols during all operations.
  • Collaborate with team members to execute tasks efficiently and contribute to the overall success of the Utility Services team.
  • Participate in training sessions to stay updated on industry best practices and safety guidelines.
  • Adhere to established protocols for the proper handling and disposal of materials, maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
  • Identify structural defects, signs of wear or damage and environmental factors that may affect stability and function.
  • Safely handle and use pesticides specific to company, government, and regulation standards.
  • Report any issues, discrepancies, or safety concerns promptly to supervisors.
  • Adhere to all company and government safety regulations.
  • Dig holes to required specifications.
  • Maintain and keep records up to date on all tools, electronics, vehicles, and equipment.
  • Demonstrate leadership abilities to successfully supervise and motivate your team members while accepting responsibility for the safe operations and maintenance of vehicle, equipment, and tools.
  • Must possess a professional attitude that will positively represent the Alamon organization to the clients and the communities in which they work.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a crew member / general labor role, preferably in utility services or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of maintenance and repair processes.
  • Ability to follow safety guidelines and protocols.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
  • Possess effective communication skills and have the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and procedures.
  • Possess a current and valid driver’s license and a clean driving record with no DUI/DWIs within the past 5 years.
  • Must pass the pre-employment screening process, drug test and motor vehicle records pull.
  • Willing to travel locally, statewide, or regionally as required.
  • Must be able to operate a UTV and perform basic maintenance tasks.
  • Have the ability and mentality to work outdoors, in a physically demanding work environment and all-weather conditions, lifting or moving up to 40lbs., and hiking over various terrain.
  • Demonstrate leadership abilities to successfully supervise and motivate your team members while accepting responsibility for the safe operations and maintenance of vehicle, equipment, and tools.
  • A professional attitude that will positively represent the Alamon organization to clients and the communities in which they work.
Physical Demands:
  • This is a physically arduous position that requires working outside in a varying weather types and exposure to the elements.
  • This position requires hiking and standing for extended periods of time.
  • This position requires extensive digging.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 40lbs.
Travel Requirements:
  • The Crew Member role is a full-time traveling position that requires extensive travel where you will be on the road for upwards of 5 weeks at a time.
  • Transportation and lodging are provided while traveling and working out of town for the company.
