We are currently looking for a Shop Hand/Delivery Driver to work out of our Palmer location. With Alaska Gear Company, this position can expect to undertake the following duties.Job Duties: - Safely drive the company van and deliver product primarily between the Mat-Su Valley and Anchorage. - Review deliveries to ensure that goods and labels match the orders. - Process in and outbound shipments in the warehouse fulfillment department once driving needs are completed. - Perform pre-trip inspections on all job-related vehicles and ensure any necessary repairs are completed. - Maintain a professional attitude and assist customers/vendors with loading fabricated parts. - Experience working with hand and power tools - Experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment is preferred - Perform other tasks as assigned.Preferred Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent - Must be 21 years of age with a valid drivers license and a clean driving record - Must have experience driving in winter weather - Must have basic driving abilities such as driving forward, driving backwards with and without a trailer or maneuvering in tight spaces, and staying in compliance with local and state traffic codes/laws. - Must be detail-oriented to maintain accuracy. - Must have strong communication skills. - Must be computer literate and able to learn new applications. - Ability to read and understand units of measurement (i.e. feet, inches, etc) - Ability to lift and transport up to 50 pounds throughout the course of the day. - Forklift experience is a plus - Ability to take direction well and follow through with little or no supervision - Safety is important to us!
