Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium has a hiring preference for qualified Alaska Native and American Indian applicants pursuant to P.L. 93-638 Indian Self Determination Act.

Summary:

Under limited supervision, provides assistance in management and training of all scanning functions within the electronic health record system and paper documentation retention regulations.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for analyzing and maintaining all scanned documents within the electronic health record to ensure quality and accuracy has been met. Performs any corrections of scanned documentation in the electronic health record system and reports findings to HIM Managers and Director. Reconciles all paper documents received to ensure completeness, indexes all documents, and prepares documents appropriately before retiring them to archives.

Provides technical support for scanning application and scanning training to all clinical and non-clinical employees of ANTHC, ANMC, SCF, and other Tribal Health Organizations on the electronic health record shared domain. Analyzes reported issues with the scanning application and reports issues to the HIM Analyst team for resolution. Periodically assists with and provides coverage for both the HIM Analyst team and Master Patient Index (MPI) duties/functions.

Maintains and updates scanned forms event set hierarchy to ensure it is accurate and up to date. Participates in the Health Records Committee and the creation of new scanned forms. Maintains archiving box numbers databases and assists with finding and ordering historic records from the National Archives in Seattle.

Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATION

An Associate’s degree in Health Information Management. Progressively responsible professional work-related experience, education, or training may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for college education.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION

Non-supervisory – Four (4) years experience in Health Information Management Field. An equivalent combination of relevant education and/or training may be substituted for experience.

PREFERRED CERTIFICATION QUALIFICATION

RHIT or RHIA credential is preferred.
