Summary:
Under general direction of management evaluates patient medical records while working with the different clinical departments located on the ANMC campus to find and determine discrepancies with existing housing reservations. Works directly with Patient Housing Management to ensure housing services are efficiently being utilized, with a goal of reducing the average length of stay in housing.
Responsibilities:
Compare length of stay through Maestro with EHR documented appointments. Review medical chart to determine medical necessity (diagnosis, have they had surgery, are the appointments clinic scheduled or self-scheduled).
Determine if the housing requests are made appropriately and coordinate/communicate with clinics and inpatient units to determine if travel can be made or if stays need to be extended/reduced.
Communicate with Patient Housing Managers and staff. Coordinate/communicate as a team member.
Critically important to communicate/negotiate with clinic staff to reschedule appointments to facilitate patient stays. For example, a patient stay is over the weekend and has a separate medical appointment on a Wednesday or MRI 3 days past imaging, try to move those appointments closer to what would be clinically acceptable. Certain clinics will have an easier time than others, make it routine to ask even if you might think it not possible or feasible.
