Alaska Primary Care Association is Hiring an Organizational Development Director Near Anchorage, AK

Brief DescriptionPosition SummaryThe Organizational Development Director leads all components of the talent function within our organization. This Department Director is an important part of the core APCA Leadership Team and plays a critical role in driving organizational effectiveness, enhancing employee engagement, and fostering a high-performance culture at APCA. The Director is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive talent strategy that supports and embodies APCA values. The OD Director also orchestrates and upholds APCA’s culture and values through policy and process development and implementation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Attract, engage, retain, and develop talent: Build and uphold a reputation and brand for our company as a career defining place to work, and develop and execute strategies to engage and retain great talent from the moment of hiring.
  • Be an active and critical member of the APCA Leadership Team and contribute to identifying and executing organizational changes where needed to support our strategic decisions.
  • Evolve culture forward: Work closely with the CEO and other team members to optimize and expand key concepts at the core of our culture.
  • Sustain an HR Center of Excellence that: Scales talent acquisition to increase brand awareness, maximize talent density, and tangibly support diversity.
  • Develop and execute performance management and learning & development strategies to increase engagement and retention of talent while elevating trust and a sense of belonging.
  • Accelerate strategic outcomes and evolve the organizational design to align with business strategy.
  • Work closely to optimize and expand culture, in collaboration with the CEO and other members of the team.
  • Accelerate the company’s people metrics, including talent acquisition, employee engagement, and retention to enable better accountability, predictability, and transparency across the organization.
RequiredQualifications / Knowledge / Skills and Abilities
  • 2-5 years of experience leading organizational development, HR, Talent or similar role
  • Strong general business instincts, with especially deep insights on people and culture, and have an interest and ability to contribute outside of the People function.
  • Intellectually curious and bring strong structured problem-solving skills to ambiguous situations.
  • Comfortable working in a high autonomy environment.
  • A high sense of urgency and a high bar for quality and taking intelligent risks.
  • High levels of readiness–you’re humble, hungry, people smart, adaptable, and you understand why.
  • A sense of urgency for goal achievement and enjoy varied activities, including multiple, simultaneous projects.
  • Results focused, with accountability for results and outcomes
  • Enjoy idea generation and innovative and creative problem solving
  • Establish rapport and focus on building relationships and engaging the commitment of others
Preferred
  • 5-10 years of experience leading organizational development, HR, Talent or similar role
  • SPHR or GPHR certification
  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR or Business
  • Experience in Health Care or Health Care Associations
Supervisory Relationship
  • Received
    • Works under the direct supervision of the CEO. Performance is assessed through review of work, integration, and cooperation within the Department and APCA, communication with all stakeholders, quality and timeliness of deliverables and associated criteria.
  • Exercised
    • Supervises the Organizational Development Team and assesses performance through review of work, integration, and cooperation within the Department and APCA, communication with all stakeholders, quality and timeliness of deliverables and associated criteria.
RequiredLanguage Skills
  • Fluency in written and spoken English required.
  • Superior written and oral communication skills.
Travel RequiredIn-city travel by personal vehicle for meetings, tasks, and errands as needed. In-state travel may occur. Mileage is reimbursed per APCA policy.
Hours per WeekThis is a full-time position, 40 hours/week. Generally, hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Work EnvironmentDuties will generally be performed in an office setting with travel and associated accommodations throughout the local area, the state of Alaska, and the Lower 48 as needed.
