We are seeking a(an) ICU - EMT Full Time Nights for our team to ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. Did you get into our industry for these reasons? Job Summary and Qualifications

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) delivers high quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of delegated basic patient care services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living. Under the supervision of the registered nurse (RN), the PCT assists the nursing staff in providing patient care in accordance with the PCT’s skills/training and the needs of the Department, and consistently assists the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment. The PCT complies with all hospital policies/procedures and observes the State Board of Nursing rules for unlicensed personnel.

In this role:

  • You will assist the nursing staff in providing patient care in accordance your skills/training and the needs of the department.
  • You will consistently assist the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment.
  • You will act in a composed and professional manner, especially under pressure.
  • You will obtain or assist in the collection of specimens for diagnostic or waived tests and ensure accuracy of all labels and a timely transfer of specimen.
  • You will follow patient and employee safety/security policies and protocols, including hand hygiene, use of universal precautions, use of personal protective equipment, and adherence to isolation procedures.
  • You will perform clerical work as needed, including assembling and maintaining charts, filing, answering and transferring phones, and relaying messages.

Qualifications:

  • Prefer six months of direct patient care experience
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification
  • Medical Terminology experience preferred
  • EMT certification.
  • Previous ICU or ER experience preferred
