The Lift Team EMT responds to requests for transport and moved patients throughout the hospital using beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs. The Lift Team EMT interacts with Hospital staff, patients, visitors with respect and kindness while conducting transfers and provides and exceptional experience on every interaction. The Lift Team EMT supports the mission, vision statements and goals of Alaska Regional Hospital (ARH).
Job Duties–
• Responds to requests for transport and creates/maintains a positive attitude and professional appearance at all times. • Ensures that they follow proper body mechanics, ergonomics, and preventive back care. • Provides assistance, and direction to ARH customers they encounter. • Responds to requests for transport and creates/maintains a positive attitude and professional appearance at all times. • Moves patients throughout the facility using beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs. • Interacts with Hospital staff, patients, and patient families while conducting transfers. • Handles various medical equipment including: oxygen tanks, IV Poles, Catheter Bags, etc. • Familiar with and utilizes appropriate level of PPE based on posted precautions. • Observes and reports unsafe conditions, hazards, and security violations when found, including blocked ingress and egress and unauthorized persons. • Utilizes Rover to track transport requests. • Responds to and assists with specific Hospital Codes only as required or directed by their immediate supervisor or designee. Your Patient Transport S.O.P.’s will provide direction on Code Response procedures for your post. • Maintain composure in dealing with authorities, leaders, staff and the public, under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations. • Accepts direction/reassignment to another Post or Site as is needed for operational necessity. • Protects patient confidentiality and protected health information (PHI) at all times.

• Must demonstrate strong customer service skills • Must have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a courteous and professional manner in keeping with policy. • Must have the ability to be on their feet for long periods of time. • Must be able to push/pull patients of various sizes in beds, stretchers and wheelchairs. • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
