Alaska Sprouts is recruiting a General Manager for its operation in Anchorage. We feed Alaska, growing Sprouts and Microgreens for stores, restaurants and food brokers in the state for 15 years. The General Manager is responsible for all day-to-day operations of the company: Production, human resources, training, food safety, sanitation, regulatory and third-party audit compliance, sales, marketing, and distribution.

The position is more hands-on than office-based. We have four people on the production floor, a delivery driver, and a part-time bookkeeper. There are two areas of primary responsibility: hr/personnel/hiring/training, and food safety compliance. Individuals interested in the position should have experience with GMP compliance. You will be developing the training program and accountability system that complies with third-party audits. You should also have strengths working with people: building a team and process that is dependable and can handle the unknowns that life throws at us. Individuals interested in the position do not need to be experienced at both: we are looking for a broad generalist who is a quick study and can figure anything out.

Compensation is variable: a base salary of $70,000 is intended to get the attention of people with management skills who still need to prove themselves. A bonus program is intended to reward success.
