Minutes Editor (Temporary Help- Local Government) Clerk’s Office Temporary, Non-Exempt Non-Benefits Eligible, Non-VRS Eligible Job Summary/ObjectiveThis position advances the work of the Clerk’s office by providing temporary support in assisting with minutes from the Board of Supervisors’ meetings. Essential Functions
Meticulously reviews content, identifying and correcting grammar, spelling, punctuation, and syntax errors.
Ensures correct formatting of meeting minutes.
Ensures transcription captures intended meaning and tone of statements made by Board members and staff.
Revises transcription to improve accuracy and clarity.
May be responsible for transcribing meeting minutes in the absence of the transcriptionist.
Competency: Knowledge/ Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of County department functions, acronyms, and terminology (and/or aptitude to learn and apply).
Comprehensive knowledge of business English, spelling, and grammar.
Excellent typing skills.
Ability to use a computer and office-related software.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Required Education And Experience
Any combination of education and experience is equivalent to a college certificate, associate degree or diploma, or its equivalent.
Considerable experience using computers.
Physical And Mental Requirements
Duties are performed in an office setting. No travel required.
Sitting for extended periods of time is required.
Work requires operation of a computer and computer software.
Remote WorkThis position is eligible for a hybrid remote work schedule that is in compliance with the County’s Remote Work Policy and meets the operational and service needs for the position. All County staff must maintain residence within the Commonwealth of Virginia. PayPay is $19.32/hour. This is a part-time temporary position and is not eligible to receive County benefits.
