Ketjen, wholly owned subsidiary of Albemarle Corporation, is seeking rising sophomores and juniors to join our Fall 2024 Chemical Engineering Co-Op Program. The ideal candidate would be available to work full-time for 12 weeks from August 26th to November 29th at our Bayport Site in Pasadena, Texas. Why choose to intern at Ketjen? We offer: Competitive pay Three vacation days and company holidays Social engagement programs Senior executive leadership networking opportunities Corporate housing (for those who meet relocation criteria) Full-time conversion opportunities QUALIFICATIONS Strong written and verbal communications skills Must be able to commit to a full-time schedule (40 hrs/week) Prior industrial or manufacturing experience a plus EDUCATION Seeking senior- level candidates (any graduation date between May 2025 - Dec 2025) Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master'sdegree from an ABET Accredited University majoring in Chemical Engineering or a similar discipline Desired Cumulative GPA 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Job Responsibilities for a Chemical Engineering Co-Op includes one or more of the following: Process development and scale up from bench scale to commercial scale Plan and execute sample productions of new chemical products for application/customer testing and market development Guide and support process hazard analyses prior to scale up Develop speculative economics for new products and processes Develop and implement safety, quality, environmental and profit improvement projects Communicate with, travel to, and provide technical support to operating plants worldwide to implement improvements, troubleshoot problems, or help increase production, reduce costs, improve quality or reduce environmental impact We are partners to one another in pioneering new ways to be better for ourselves, our teams, and our communities.
