Position Information:

• 1.0 FTE
• Early Childhood Special Education license preferred, but not required.

Essential Duties:

• Coordinates the referral and assessment process for children from birth to kindergarten.
• Acts as central intake person for referrals to the school district for children from birth to kindergarten.
• Assembles and disseminates applicable reference materials to parents/caregivers.
• Distributes developmental history, release/exchange of information, and screening tools if needed for intake.
• Maintains all census data on referred and evaluated children (Ages Birth-3 and 3-5).
• Complies with all data practices requirements.

• Reviews screening information, develop evaluation plans, gather developmental history, administer a variety of evaluation tools, assessments, and observations.

• Acts as a member of individual building-level special education teams in providing special education services to students with disabilities.
• Acts as district representative at initial Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and others as needed.
• Provides information to parents regarding referral and assessment processes, special education services, and their rights relative to special education.
• Responsible for intake service referral coordination.
• Maintains accurate records.
• Implement professional development regarding the Special Education evaluation and eligibility process.
