Prevention and Training Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY:

The Prevention and Training Coordinator represents the vision, mission, and core values of the Albion Fellows Bacon Center (AFBC) and coordinates efforts to train and engage youth, law enforcement, partner programs, volunteers, and the community to increase their knowledge and awareness to prevent, reduce, and eliminate domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking. Assists the Director of Advancement and Outreach in nurturing and cultivating an equitable, supportive, inclusive, diverse and engaging work culture within the department and the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Coordinates and facilitates harm-reduction prevention curricula to students.
  • Researches and incorporates best-practices and evidence-based curricula and information from the industry in alignment with the Albion Fellows Bacon Center’s (AFBC’s) vision, mission, and core values regarding diversity, equity, and survivor-centeredness.
  • Coordinates area-wide prevention activities within the advancement and outreach program.
  • Coordinates and supports the Albion Fellows Bacon Center (AFBC) Youth Prevention Council, group event planning, recruitment, fundraising, and supervision.
  • Provides in-service trainings and compiles resources for community members, law enforcement, community partners, stakeholders, board members, employees, and volunteers.
  • Maintains effective relationships with other agency and school personnel.
  • Networks with other centers and providers within our service area in order to avoid duplication of services and enhance service delivery to the community.
  • Oversees the creation and administration of presentation surveys to students, teachers, parents, and community.
  • Examines outcome data and works in conjunction with the Director of Advancement and Outreach to assess the capacity within the organization to deliver its prevention and training initiatives to the targeted and intended audiences.
  • Coordinates with the Community and Volunteer Coordinator to ensure that the Albion Fellows Bacon Center (AFBC) website and social media platforms are kept current with informative, helpful, harm-prevention focused, field-vetted, survivor-centered, trauma-informed content.
  • Documents and maintains all services and contacts, and completes required funding reports and submits a monthly progress report to the Director of Advancement and Outreach for inclusion in the reporting to the Board of Directors as well as reports to the appropriate funding sources.
  • Participates with department employees in preparing and disseminating an engaging and informative Albion Fellows Bacon Cener (AFBC) annual report and other materials, newsletters, brochures, etc.
  • Maintains knowledge and awareness of volunteer policies and procedures.
  • Assists the Director of Advancement and Outreach with identifying opportunities for volunteer and community partnership resources and communicates these prospects and actively engages program volunteers by providing adequate supervision and job-related training.
  • Represents the Albion Fellows Bacon Center (AFBC), as assigned by the Director of Advancement and Outreach, on various relevant community work group and task forces to ensure the needs and concerns of survivors are communicated.
  • Assists the Director of Advancement and Outreach with promoting the Albion Fellows Bacon Center’s (AFBC’s) mission and services in the community through presentations at local schools, businesses and churches, and completes engagement reports to provide data on presentations.
  • Participates in rotating facility/management on-call schedule.
  • Acts as a mandatory reporter and engages with the Department of Child Services (DCS) in the event of any suspected child abuse or neglect.
  • Promotes an open and supportive flow of communication within the department and with other departments.
  • Engages in meetings and workshops that enhance the mission of organization.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.50 - $19.61 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
