Summary

Charger Aquatics is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and positive individual for the position of Age Group Assistant Coach. This position serves as Lead Coach for the Age Group Championship, and Silver Practice Groups, AM Masters Group, as well as performing administrative duties and assisting with Meet Operations and Summer Pre-Team.

Essential Functions

• Act as the Primary Coach for the Age Group Championship, and Silver Practice Groups.
• Coach AM Masters Practice Group.
• Establish a positive practice environment, while teaching self-discipline, dedication, and responsibility.
• Implement the framework for swimmer development as established by the CAQ Director.
• Attend all swim meets according to the Competition Schedule set by CAQ Director.
• Assist/Substitute with other practice groups as needed. 
• Communicate with families effectively and efficiently.
• Complete meet entries for all assigned swimmers.
• Assist with necessary administrative work as directed.
• Assist Associate Head Coach and Head Coach with all aspects of meet planning and operations.
• Be on-site at all CAQ-hosted events to assist with daily operations.
• Maintain and Track the CAQ Volunteer Requirement Hours for each Swim Year.
• Assist with Pre-Team Operations.
• Coach Pre-Team practice groups.
• Assist with Pre-Team Registration, coordination, and Meet planning.
• Support the School and its mission, always maintaining a high degree of professionalism.
• Foster and maintain a culture of mutual respect, equitable practice, and joy. 
• Demonstrate cultural competence and communicate and collaborate effectively across differences.

Other Responsibilities

• Attend employee meetings as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Education

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience

• 2 years of experience in coaching is preferred.
• Previous experience in competitive swimming is preferred. 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Excellent human relations skills
• Effective verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to learn quickly and understand new software applications
• Strong knowledge of Google software (Sheets, Docs, Forms, etc)

Special Requirements

• A current Coach Membership with USA Swimming is preferred. 
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Working Environment

• Majority of work is performed in an indoor setting in the campus Natatorium.
• Work hours are variable depending on practices, needed administrative work, and time of year.
• Weekend and evening work including, but not limited to, swim practices, swim meets, parent meetings, team banquets, and miscellaneous programming may be required. 

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds with or without assistance
• Frequent walking, standing, crouching while on deck
• Ability to work in an office setting; filing, handling office materials, and operating/working on a computer
