Albuquerque Public Schools is Hiring a PART TIME MATH INTERVENTIONIST (.80 FTE) Near Albuquerque, NM

T he Math Resource Teacher will develop, implement, oversee and provide direct instruction for students receiving layered support in mathematics. Additionally the math resource teacher will oversee and support the instruction of professional development, resources, and classroom support for teachers working with students. They will provide expertise in the specific area of mathematics
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : Incumbent must achieve the following outcomes with or without reasonable accommodation:
  • Support math intervention for students using instructional pedagogy and curriculum.
  • Support teachers and staff working with students with mathematics.
  • Observe and consult with teachers and all education staff that are requesting additional supports and strategies for students.
  • Assist staff with developing data based interventions and the analysis of student data to help them make instructional decisions based on student performance and student needs.

DUTIES: In addition to the essential functions of this job, the incumbent must perform the following duties:
  • Complies with state-approved Code of Ethics of the Education Profession and upholds and enforces rules, administrative directives and regulations, school board policies, and local, state and federal regulations.
  • Articulates and facilitates the implementation of the mission and values of the Albuquerque Public Schools.
  • Safeguards confidentiality of privileged information.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate and complete records and reports as required by law, state directives, District policy and administrative regulations.
  • Shares the responsibility for the supervision and care of District inventory, proper and safe use of facilities, equipment and supplies, and reports safety hazards promptly.
  • Maintains professional relationships and works cooperatively with employees, the community and other professionals.
  • Maintains professional competence through individual and staff training, in-service educational activities and self-selected professional growth activities.
  • Attends and/or conducts staff meetings and participates on committees within area of responsibility.
  • Performs other tasks related to area of responsibilities as requested or assigned by an immediate supervisor.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE:
PREFERED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
  • Experience with mathematics instruction.
  • Knowledge of pedagogy and curriculum.
REQUIREMENTS:
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field
  • Valid NM Teacher's Level II or Level III license appropriate to teaching assignment:
    • Elementary: 200 K-8 license
    • Middle school: 200 K-8 license or 350 5-9 mid level license with a math endorsement or 300 7-12 secondary license with a math endorsement
    • H igh school a 300 secondary license with a math endorsement
  • 5 or more years experience teaching students in K-12
