About the role:With a solid reporting line to the Global Functions HR Director and dotted line to the Organizational Development Global Director, you will partner closely with local and global HR Teams and leadership teams on Organizational Development priorities and key matters including talent actions and interventions.
Key Responsibilities:In this individual contributor role, you will be the liaison between the Global Organizational Development CoE and the functions, acting as a conduit to align priorities and needs while deploying our key Organizational Development processes in the functions, leading the execution end-to-end in partnership with local and global teams.
  • You will be responsible to understand the global organizational priorities, the regional and functional talent & business scenario and based on that to help the Global Functions teams, and leadership team to define clear talent strategies and priorities for the function, linked to the POAP.
  • You will be representing the Global Talent Management, L&D, and IDE COEs. Also having governance in key themes with Talent Acquisition, HR Analytics and Total Rewards as needed.
Detailed role responsibilities:Talent & Retention
  • Collaborate with Global Functions teams to build a Retention and Engagement strategy and plan.
  • Own the execution of the Alcoa talent management cycle across the global functions including co-leading People Reviews, succession management discussions and people review follow ups. Also co-leads the actions related to the Talent Cycle to guarantee we have quality plans to improve bench strength.
  • Be accountable in increasing adoption to PDP (Talent Management) by running webinars, coaching leaders and employees.
  • Proactive support global functions to identify organization gaps including retirement, skills gaps, org gaps. Connects with other COEs to provide feedback.
  • Support employee engagement in the functions defining actions to improve employee experience
  • Action planning after workforce planning together with HR, proactively identifying skills and roles understanding the downstream implications.
  • Work with HR teams to identify appropriate HR interventions to address needs leveraging L&D solutions such as: profiler assessment, team building, high performance teams.
L&D
  • Identify learning and development needs through Talent Review and ongoing discussions with functions HR and business leaders.
  • Serve as ambassador in supporting global and regional consistency, aligning with global L&D governance on learning processes, delivery platforms, tracking, assessment, and evaluations.
  • Liaise between Global L&D and Regional L&D to share leadership development and learning programming efforts.
  • Actively promote learning and development enablers such as mentoring, gigs, coaching, etc., identifying the targeted solution for each situation.
  • Promote and support democratized learning for all Alcoans.
IDE
  • Engage in Diversity & Inclusion local priorities and is accountable for monitoring of key indicators and best practices sharing.
  • Voice of the function into the Global IDE strategy ensuring relevance and cultural translation across the functions.
  • Partner with regional and global HR to infuse diversity, inclusion and equity into people policies and practices. Works closely with regional and global stakeholders to roll out, implement and improve IDE initiatives within the functions.
  • Collaborate with HR and IGs on the creation and implementation of targeted development programs, IDE training, and interventions that lead to measurable results and long-term behavior change.
  • Measure impact in the functions aligned with corporate IDE metrics and influences improvements.
What you can bring to this role:
  • Bachelors’ degree
  • Minimum 8 years of HR experience and proven experience in a similar role
  • Proven expertise in the talent management function (i.e., Entry level programs, recruiting, succession management, development programs)
  • Experience of working in a heavy manufacturing, industrialized company is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with individuals throughout the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence direction & outcomes and develop people through building rapport and credibility with leaders and teams.
  • Previous Talent Management and HRBP experience in providing strategic recommendations to both corporate and field clients; demonstrated track record of influencing and advising at all levels.
  • Expertise in operationalizing talent strategies in a global, complex, matrixed organization.
  • Experience in diagnosis of development needs, gaps and action planning and implementation.
  • Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while maintaining deadlines and stakeholder goals.

Base salary: $121,000 - $167,000 USD annually
Total rewards packages listed, including base salary and bonus eligibility, applies to US based applicants only. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on a range of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies in conjunction with multiple components of the Employee Total Rewards Package. Alcoa reserves the right to change plans at its discretion.
