Summary

As an Assistant Food & Beverage Outlet Manager (internally "Assistant Outlet Manager"), you'll be helping to ensure Restaurant, Lounge, Patio, Drinkery, and Room Service operations run smoothly. This role requires someone who can juggle multiple tasks with ease and adapt to situations. Success in this role requires consistency, integrity, and a heartfelt commitment to the team and overall operation.

We're looking for someone who can...

  • Balance administrative tasks with an on-the-floor approach to management.
  • Manage PM Restaurant employees, including training, performance reviews, and disciplinary measures.
  • Act as Floor Manager for scheduled shifts: personalize the guest experience, perform guest recovery when necessary, manage floor staff, and ensure the completion of all job duties/side-work.
  • Serve as the point of contact for Alderbrook staff and guests regarding restaurant charge errors or disputes in the absence of the Director of Food & Beverage Outlets.
  • Monitor and adjust staffing levels for scheduled shifts.
  • Provide assistance to operating food and beverage outlets as needed, including but not limited to expediting, running food, bussing tables, seating guests, greeting guests, and providing drinks.
  • Participates in monthly inventory counts and data entry.
  • Manage the reservations program for the restaurant, including private dining and special events reservations.
  • Train and develop restaurant staff, coaching fine dining service skills, correcting when necessary, and testing knowledge and expertise.
  • Oversee operating food and beverage outlets (Restaurant, Lounge, Patio, Drinkery, Room Service) and supervise department employees during assigned shifts
  • Manage PM restaurant service staff.
  • Participate in the hiring process.
  • Train restaurant/lounge employees as requested.
  • Advise the Director of Food & Beverage Outlets on counseling and disciplining departmental employees; participate in or execute counseling/discipline of departmental employees.
  • Contribute to the accurate and timely preparation of performance reviews.
  • Ensure all interactions with and between coworkers are conducted in a highly professional and efficient manner.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Physical Demands. Employees in this role are regularly required to talk and hear. They occasionally need to stand, walk, sit, use their hands for tasks, reach with their hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, or crouch. They must occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include near and distant vision.
  • Work Environment. Conditions are those of a kitchen/restaurant environment. It is a controlled environment, and the position experiences a moderate level of noise in the work environment.

Qualifications

  • 2 years' hotel or restaurant management experience required
  • Familiarity with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Degree or certificate in Business Management, Food Service, Humanities or related field preferred
  • Thursday-Sunday availabilityrequired
  • Open schedule availability preferred
  • Equivalent education, skills, and/or experience necessary to perform the essential functions may be considered

Permits & Certifications

  • WA Food Worker Card required within 14 days after hire
  • WA Class 12/13 (MAST) Permit required within 60 days after hire

Pay, Hours & Status

  • Pay | $60,000 - $70,000/yr
  • Hours | Full-Time
  • Status | Salary, Nonexempt (overtime eligible)
