Position Overview:

Alera Group is looking for a Data Analyst to join our growing team. As a data analyst, you will work within the financial/actuarial team to develop solutions for clients offering employee health, life, and disability benefits to their employees. This position is a remote/work from home role for candidates living in the US.

The finance/actuarial team withing the employee benefits practice at Alera Group provides a broad range of data analysis, financial reporting and cost projections for our clients throughout the US. Our team’s work supports broader strategic consulting to employers, associations and insurance/financial services organizations, covering a wide arrange of industries in the both private and public sector. Our finance/actuarial team has extensive industry experience in areas such as data analysis, financial reporting, risk management and actuarial analysis. 

You will join the finance/actuarial team and work closely with senior consultants in the following areas:

• Collect data from clients, insurers, third-party administrators, databases and other vendors
• Review data to ensure accuracy and completeness, build tools to efficiently process data over the long term
• Build data storage and data analytics capabilities
• Prepare client reports, including monthly and quarterly financial reports
• Analyze data to develop trends and cost implications for clients, helping clients make data driven decisions on benefits programs, and understand future program costs
• Support research and development of benchmarking analyses, whitepapers and market trends
• Peer review work of others on team
• Correspond with clients and vendors, including data gathering, discussion of issues and presentations at meetings

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

• Completion of bachelors degree, with a focus on finance, data analytics or related field
• Capacity to manage multiple projects, and deliver high quality work to clients on a timely basis
• Superior capability to analyze data, interpret findings and effectively communicate results
• Demonstrated ability to build and interpret analytical models
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• High degree of customer focus and responsiveness
• Ability to deliver high quality work on deadline as both an individual contributor and as a team member
