Position: Head Start Family Engagement and Transportation Coordinator

Location: Region Wide/Anchorage

Reports to: Head Start Division Coordinator – Anchorage

Work Schedule: Full Time – 37.5 hrs per week

Salary: $24.05-$33.29

Duties: Promote family and community partnerships through home visits, parent involvement, parent training and education, and child and family activities. Maintain adherence with Head Start Program Standards and other rules and regulations governing Head Start through maintaining appropriate documentation. Establish and maintain partnerships with community agencies, developing and maintaining Memorandums of Agreement (MOA’s) and Memorandums of Understanding (MOU’s). Assume leadership role for ERSEA (Enrollment, Recruitment, Selection, Eligibility, and Attendance) of Head Start students, all file and family reviews, family contacts and referrals, parent handbook/calendars and parent educational opportunities. Provide support for Head Start families through site staff or directly on an as-needed basis.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a field related to Social, Human, Family Services, Early Childhood Education or related field; relevant work experience in human services/social services or child development may be substituted for college level education. Three to five years relevant work-related experience that includes supervision or management; or any equivalent of education, training, and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities. Proof of all degrees are required and must be from an accredited university. Transcripts may also be requested to assist in determining qualifications. Course descriptions or syllabi may also be requested to assist in determining whether a course is related. Acceptable degrees include: Baccalaureate or advanced degree in early childhood education; or Baccalaureate or advanced degree in any subject, and coursework equivalent to a major relating to early childhood education with experience in an early childhood setting.

Requirements: Upon date of hire, must provide documentation of current TB test and Hepatitis screening/vaccination status; criminal history background/fingerprint clearance and be willing to obtain a CPR and First Aid Certification.
