DescriptionAs a Behavioral Health Counselor in our Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF), you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive care and support to our clients. Your main responsibilities will include coordinating and monitoring various direct care activities for clients in residential and group home settings, ensuring adherence to the NMT model for consistent and appropriate therapeutic activities, clinical interventions, staffing, and treatment planning. You will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our clients and ensuring the residential facilities are well-maintained.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear, and taste or smell. The employee frequently climbs or balances and must frequently move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Your main responsibilities will include coordinating and monitoring various direct care activities for clients in residential and group home settings, ensuring adherence to the NMT model for consistent and appropriate therapeutic activities, clinical interventions, staffing, and treatment planning. You will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our clients and ensuring the residential facilities are well-maintained.
QualificationsESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide appropriate intervention services to clients in a compassionate and empathetic manner.
- Facilitate individual, group, and family conferences to address the unique needs of our clients.
- Ensure the residential facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained to support the comfort and recovery of clients.
- Complete all documentation in a timely and accurate manner, submitting it error-free by the end of each shift.
- Participate in all mandated training, ensuring 100% completion within the specified time frame.
- Deliver high-quality services in accordance with the NMT model and agency policies, striving for an average score of 80% or better on the Model of Care skill assessment.
- Maintain a neat work area, ensuring classroom and cottage inspections receive a score of 98% or better.
- Attend 85% of all clinical staffings to actively contribute to the clients' treatment and progress.
- Adhere to Handle with Care protocols for restrictive interventions (RIs) as indicated in monthly supervision, avoiding any corrective actions related to RIs.
- Exhibit reliable attendance, with minimal occurrences of unscheduled absences or lateness.
EDUCATION And EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma is required.
- B.A./B.S. in a related human service field is preferred.
- Four years of experience in Mental Health is preferred.
- Ability to solve practical problems and address various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
- Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
