Description SUMMARY Provides, coordinates, and monitors a variety of direct care activities for clients in an emergency group home setting in accordance with the NMT model e nsures consistent and appropriate education activities, therapeutic activities, clinical interventions, and staffing and treatment planning. Under the supervision of the program manager, staff will monitor the individualized academic plan for clients. Ensures a clean and safe environment for clients; ensures residential facilities of clients are clean, safe and maintained. Offers appropriate intervention services; facilitates individual, group and family conferences.
Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following
  • Completes documentation timely and accurately
  • Participates and monitors all tasks of the individual academic plan for assigned clients
  • Completes all mandated training
  • Provides quality services in accordance with NMT model and agency policies
  • Maintains neat work area
  • Participates in clinical staff meetings
  • Adheres to TCI protocols for restrictive interventions (RIs)
  • Attendance: Has minimal occurrences of unscheduled absences or lateness
Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma is required. B.A. /B.S. in a related human service field preferred. Experience in an academic setting strongly preferred. Four years Mental Health experience is preferred.
Required REQUIRED COMPETENCIES Competency is defined as the techniques, procedures, technology, skills or equipment needed to do one’s job. The following competencies are required of this position: age specific competency for children and adolescents, competency in the Administration of Medications, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, Life Saving/Safety to include First Aid and CPR; Working with Mental Health Population through utilization of TCI and NMT, Blood Borne Pathogens and Infection Control . Language SkillsAbility to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, governmental regulations, or legal documentation. Ability to write reports and business correspondence to a prescribed format and style. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of children, top managers, clients and families, volunteers, and the general public.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, rations, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
