Job Summary
At Alfa Insurance, our esteemed Actuarial Assistants are entrusted with a range of crucial responsibilities that make substantial contributions to all actuarial functions. They work collaboratively with other members of the Life Operations team and partner with other departments to ensure saucerful analysis and design of Alfa Life products. Our dedicated team of Actuarial Assistants is unwavering in their commitment and contribution to the success and profitability of our organization.
Responsibilities
- This position assumes responsibility for various aspects of actuarial work or may be the primary resource in a major area such as product development or financial reporting.
- Performs ad hoc projects as an independent contributor to the health of Alfa Life.
- Develop Axis software and Excel spreadsheets to provide support for product development, illustration actuary certifications, product management, and illustrations checking.
- Perform & review analyst work for mortality, investments, lapse, expense, and other experience analysis.
- Performs most new tasks with little guidance.
- Identifies and implements improvements.
- Respected for knowledge about actuarial science, the company, and the industry.
- Progresses with the actuarial exams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required, with a major in math, statistics, or actuarial science preferred.
- Master’s degree in math, statistics, or actuarial science is desirable.
- ASA Designation required.
- Four years of actuarial experience preferred.
- Must have experience with actuarial projection software, preferably GGY-Axis.
- Must have demonstrated strong capacity to effectively work independently.
- Communication skills, computer skills, interpersonal skills, and progress on the actuarial exams have previously been addressed.
