Production Infrastructure Engineer

A market leading proprietary trading firm is seeking an experienced Engineer to join their production team and play a crucial role in building and maintaining the mission-critical infrastructure and automating the trading production environment. This role will involve collaborating with various stakeholders across the organization, including operations and development teams, to drive scalability, robustness, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable infrastructure solutions to support high-performance trading systems.
• Automate and streamline processes within a trading production environment, enabling faster and safer innovation cycles.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations and development, to understand their needs and translate them into efficient and maintainable solutions.
• Identify and implement best practices for infrastructure automation, configuration management, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Develop monitoring and alerting systems to ensure the reliability and performance of infrastructure and trading systems.
• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of infrastructure, processes, and tooling, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
• Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering knowledge sharing and promoting best practices within the team.

Requirements:

• Hands-on experience in Python development, with proficiency in utilizing either the Flask and/or Django framework for building robust and scalable applications.
• Expertise in automation tools and techniques, enabling efficient and streamlined workflows within the software development lifecycle.
• Proficiency in leveraging Ansible as an infrastructure-as-code solution, enabling consistent and reproducible deployments across diverse environments.
• Practical experience in implementing and maintaining continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like Jenkins, ensuring seamless and reliable software delivery.
• Demonstrable experience in managing and monitoring production environments, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security of deployed applications.
• While specific knowledge of the trading or finance industry is not a mandatory requirement, a willingness to learn and adapt to the unique challenges and demands of this domain is highly desirable.
