Essential Functions (What)

1. Determine chemical composition/makeup of processing tanks and maintain composition to industry/customer specifications (Weekly).
2. Determine contaminate levels for chemical processing tanks (Weekly).
   Run corrosion test panels (Daily checks of pH, water collection rate and solution density).
3. Maintain clean and orderly lab (Daily).
4. Properly care for and clean lab equipment and glassware, e.g., pipettes, flasks, beakers, etc. (Daily)
5. Calibrate pH, ISE and conductivity meters (Daily).
6. Document lab results and immediately report any out-of-spec condition (Daily).
7. Analytical Techniques Used:
   1. Titrations Acid-Base and Hexavalent Chrome determination
   2. Spectroscopy (UV-VIS) Spectrophotometric determination of trace metals
   3. Electrochemical Measurements Conductivity, pH and ISE (ion-selective electrode)
   4. General Gravimetric and Volumetric Measurements

Skills/Knowledge/Behaviors (How)

• Knowledge of all chemicals used for processing and lab testing
• Understand hazardous waste labeling procedures
• Proficiency with computers and computer software, including Word, Excel, and data entry
• Working knowledge of customer specifications and requirements
• Ability to use conductivity meter, pH meter, spectrophotometer, and other lab equipment.
• Knowledge of air quality and waste water regulations
• Understand and obey safety requirements
• Commitment to keep work area clean and free of debris
• Able to understand and communicate in English
• Working knowledge of Employee Handbook

Preferred Education and Experience

Current Chemistry or Biology student preferred.

OJT provided.
