Staffing Director

Responsibilities

• Maintain daily tardy and absenteeism calendars.
• Work with Human Resource Manager and DON when scheduling modified work duty employees in accordance with work restrictions and facility policy.
• Complete monthly nursing schedule coordinating requests to ensure appropriate coverage of units.
• Complete and post work sheets/time schedules. Perform miscellaneous duties pertaining to staffing and assist nursing supervisory personnel as necessary.
• Answer employee calls regarding staffing/scheduling functions. Assist in obtaining nursing care staff information needed for daily posting requirements.
• Work with the nurse management team to coordinate work schedules, time off, and shift coverage.

· Ability to utilize the On-shift scheduling system.

· Communicate effectively with teams to assure a team-oriented environment /

· Manage the staffing schedule and maintain adequate staffing for each shift and monitor overtime utilization.

• Recruit staff members from job fairs, career days, nursing school, and other potential sources.
• Develop and implement local recruiting campaigns with the Administration Team
• Assists with Screening, interviewing, and orientation of qualified applicants.
• Assist with the tracking and communicating compliance of required education, certifications, and specialized training.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

• Strong oral and written communication and teaching skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with resident, families, community members, volunteers, and other facility staff.

Qualifications

• CNA certification preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Experience in a long-term care/skilled facility preferred.
• Prior scheduling experience preferred.
• Computer skills required.
• Knowledge of scheduling software is encouraged.
