Position Overview

Alkami is looking for a Lead Project Manager that has customer-facing experience launching enterprise-scale cloud software solutions. This position will report into the Alkami Customer Experience Group (CXG) division and be the team leader responsible for leading, mentoring, assisting Project Managers and managing customer work for the Professional Services Organization (PSO), these are what’s referred to as “Phase 2 Projects”, where clients are already on the Alkami platform, and are requesting client change requests and feature additions.

A Lead Project Manager will be responsible for delivering their own projects, as well as being a guide to other other project managers in assisting them in removing roadblocks, answering technical / product/ organizational questions, being the first point of escalation and helping ensure a strong delivery across projects for PSO.

Successful candidates must have a strong sense of urgency and ownership to drive projects to completion and be successful in a collaborative environment. Communication skills are critical, as well as the ability to quantify and manage all aspects of the project, balancing both client and internal team objectives, while adhering to established timelines and contract scope.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage a portfolio of PSO projects from start to finish simultaneously, while providing which may include direction and /oversight for other project managers and their projects.
  • Create project schedules and define project deliverables based around project scope for their projects and do assist other project managers with their project schedules
  • Track and manage project milestones and customer reported issues
  • Communicate status, issues and risks to project stakeholders
  • Maintain project documentation, meeting minutes, meeting agendas, scope amendments, and key customer communication archives
  • Create and manage configuration documentation for client projects
  • Be the primary point of contact for all client inquiries for projects being managed for their projects. For other project managers projects, be the first line of escalation
  • Create, redefine and implement processes, working with management to suggest modifications focusing on client satisfaction and efficiency
  • Work closely with Product Development and Engineering to resolve complex issues reported by our customers
  • Provide regular input to the PSO management team on process improvements and best practices.
  • Present health status, successes, issues and risks to senior leadership in Operational Review type meetings
  • Track individual and team time reporting
  • Coordinate with the account management team during implementation lifecycle and post-launch stage to maintain customer relationships and communication
  • Host recurring customer conference calls to drive project execution; travel onsite to assigned customer facilities when necessary
  • Monitor and process PSO inbound project queue to ensure projects are valid, accurate and scoped appropriately prior to project manager assignment
  • Lead complex projects to completion meeting client satisfaction requirements

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 7 years of project management experience preferably in the financial services (preferably banking) or software industry (preferably SaaS), with increasing demonstrated responsibility and success
  • A minimum of 2 years of proven leadership experience in a team leader or managerial role
  • A minimum of 2 years of previous work experience with the banking and financial industry as it relates to Internet home banking applications
  • A passion for people and previous experience of mentorship and leadership with Project Management team members
  • Professional, thoughtful communicator and problem-solver, with strong experience in extensive interactions and partnering with external customers, third party vendors, and all levels of management within the organization
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite including MS Project, MS Excel and MS Word
  • Experience with SQL Server
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to lead a team of technical and non-technical staff
  • Ability to lead and mentor project management teams
  • Ability to perform successfully in a high-pressure, fast-pace working environment
  • Ability to work independently with little direction
  • Careful attention to detail in all aspects of the job

Desired Skills:

  • Experience implementing SaaS solutions
  • Working knowledge of SQL and haystack is extremely beneficial
  • Previous use of JIRA, Confluence and Workfront preferred
  • A general knowledge of Internet routing and related protocols
  • A general knowledge of Firewall operations as they relate to Internet connectivity
