Job Summary :

As an Inpatient Coding Specialist III working remotely, you will meticulously review and assess hospital inpatient medical record documentation.

Your responsibilities include assigning, sequencing, editing, and validating the appropriate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes.

As a Coding Integrity Specialist III, you will perform coding and / or code / DRG validation for multiple facilities, applying coding guidelines and criteria for accurate code selections.

Job Qualifications :

  • Assign, sequence, validate, and / or edit codes / DRGs for inpatient records across multiple facilities using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS.
  • Maintain or exceed established accuracy and productivity standards.
  • Utilize comprehensive patient medical record documentation for code / DRG assignment, validation, and editing.
  • Hold an Undergraduate degree (Associate's or Bachelor's) in HIM / HIT preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of acute care hospital inpatient coding required, with 3 years preferred.
  • Coding Technical Skills : ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, MS-DRGs, APR DRGs, and POA Assignment.
  • Conduct audits as required.
  • RHIT, RHIA, or CCS certification required.
  • Must be disciplined and capable of meeting metrics.

Candidates residing in CA and Colorado, NYC, and Hawaii will not be considered due to the WFH and vaccine mandate.

Additional Responsibilities :

  • Address coding quality edits and customer complaints related to potential coding errors.
  • Seeking candidates with three years of IP (hospital) DRG coding for acute care, including burns and cardiac catheterization.
